E-Check and inspections
We inspect electrical systems, distribution boards and portable appliances on site — and then hand you a written report along with an overview of any defects found.
What an inspection reveals
During the E-Check, we inspect an existing electrical system for its safe condition: meter cabinet and sub-distribution boards, cable runs, sockets, switches, light fittings and permanently connected appliances.
We examine the system, take measurements with an installation test device, and record every value in writing. At the end, you know which parts of the system are fine, where wear is starting, and what should be replaced as a priority. For property managers and commercial businesses, the report also serves as proof that the inspection obligation has been fulfilled.
Process
How the inspection works
The sequence is the same for every job, whether terraced house, apartment building or workshop. This means you know in advance what will happen in your rooms and roughly how long we'll be on site.
By phone or message, we clarify what needs to be inspected: the entire flat, just the distribution board, commercial premises or a list of portable appliances. We ask about the year of construction, the last inspection and any known issues such as a tripping residual current device. This determines the time required and the appointment.
On site, we start with a visual inspection: condition of the distribution board, covers, sockets and switches, damage to cables, impermissible makeshift fixes, signs of overload such as discoloured terminal points. We photograph anything notable so you can later see exactly what it concerns.
Then we measure using the installation tester: continuity of the protective conductor, insulation resistance of the cables, loop impedance as a measure of the disconnection condition, and tripping current together with tripping time of the residual current devices. In addition, we test circuits, lights and circuit breakers in practice.
All measured values go into a test report stating the circuits tested. We go through the result with you, explain each finding in understandable terms and clearly distinguish between a defect that should be fixed immediately and a recommendation for later.
With your approval, we fix minor defects directly during the appointment, such as loose terminal points or a faulty socket. For larger work, you receive a quote. After a successful inspection, you receive the report and, on request, the E-Check sticker on the meter cabinet.
