Electrical contractor in Rendsburg

What electrical work costs

We only give you a figure once we know the scope. On this page, you can read how a quote is put together with us, what it includes and how billing works afterwards.

Am Kanal 8, Rendsburg Mon-Thu 7:30 am-4:30 pm Fri 7:30 am-1:00 pm
Quote before work begins, in writing
Billing by fixed price or by effort
Additional work only with your approval
Hours and materials itemised separately

What the costs depend on

Two flats on the same street can mean very different amounts of work – the difference lies in the installation, not the price per square metre.

Scope of work

An additional socket is one line item; a new distribution board with twelve circuits is many. We list every point individually so you can see what accounts for what.

Condition of the installation

Old fabric-insulated cables, missing protective conductors or a distribution board with no spare capacity all significantly change the amount of work. What we find becomes clear during the on-site survey.

Accessibility

Surface-mounted work in a cellar is quicker than concealed work in an occupied upper floor. Chasing, chiselling and protecting floors and furniture are all part of the effort.

Material and make

Switch ranges, cable cross-sections and protective devices differ in price. We propose one option and name alternatives where they exist.

Travel and location

Within Rendsburg itself, less travel time is needed than at the edge of our service area. Travel appears as its own line item in the quote.

Our service area

Which locations we regularly travel to and how this affects the travel line item is shown in the service area overview.

What our quote includes

Every quote leaves our office at Am Kanal 8 in writing and broken down into line items – not as a single sum under one sentence.

  • Each service as its own line item with quantity – for example, number of sockets, metres of cable, number of circuit breakers
  • Labour time shown separately from material, so you can see both parts individually
  • Make and type of the main components, not just „switch range“
  • Travel as its own line item instead of hidden in the hourly rate
  • What is explicitly not included – for example, painting and plastering work after chasing
  • Testing and documentation after completion, where part of the service
  • Total net amount, VAT and gross amount shown separately
  • Indication of which items are estimated and will be billed based on actual effort

Fixed price or billing by effort

Both approaches have their place: whatever can be fully measured in advance gets a fixed price – whatever only becomes visible behind the wall, we bill based on actual effort.

Plannable work

Fixed price based on measurement

  • The total is fixed before work begins and does not change on its own
  • Suitable for new installations, distribution board replacement, electrical safety checks and clearly defined extensions
  • Easy to compare if you're getting several quotes
  • Requires us to see the installation beforehand and assess cable routes
  • Not possible if large parts of the installation are concealed and cannot be inspected
Unclear condition

Billing by effort

  • You pay for the hours actually worked and the material actually used – nothing more
  • The right approach for fault-finding, older building electrics and work with an unknown starting condition
  • Timesheet and material list are included with the invoice
  • The final total is only known once the work is complete
  • Requires interim check-ins so the scope doesn't grow unnoticed

From enquiry to invoice

Between your first call and the invoice, there are four stages – the figure only takes shape at the third one, after the on-site survey.

  1. 1

    Enquiry and initial conversation

You tell us by phone on +49 30 23125102 or by email at info@elektro-hansen.invalid what needs doing. We ask about the type of property, year built and scope, and let you know whether an on-site survey is needed. We're available Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and Friday from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm.

  2. 2

    On-site survey

We look at the distribution board, cable routes and condition of the installation, take measurements and note every line item. We also clarify what you'd like to contribute yourself and which work other trades will handle. Without this appointment, we cannot give you a reliable figure.

  3. 3

    Written quote

You receive the quote broken down into line items, with labour time and material shown separately. Open points are marked as estimates. You can take your time to review, ask questions and compare; we don't set you a deadline.

  4. 4

    Execution and billing

Once you give the go-ahead, we schedule the appointment. You're billed for what was actually carried out: for fixed prices, the agreed total; for effort-based items, the hours worked and material used, with supporting documentation. If anything additional comes up during the work, we pause and talk to you first.
