What do I need to prepare before the appointment?

Please ensure free access to distribution boards, the meter cabinet and technical rooms, and have the keys ready. Existing documents such as old test reports, distribution board plans or device lists are helpful. Shelves or furniture in front of sockets and sub-distribution boards should be cleared away. Please designate a contact person who is available during the work and can authorise power shutdowns.

Does my business have to close for the work?

Usually not. We isolate section by section, so only individual circuits are affected, and schedule the work during off-peak times by arrangement. It is not possible to work without any interruption at all if the main distribution board itself is being modified; we agree on these windows in advance and keep them as short as possible.

How often does the system need to be inspected?

The intervals depend on use and stress and are derived from your business's risk assessment, not set as a flat rule. During the walkthrough, we assess your system and devices and note a date for the recommended periodic inspection in the report. We can remind you of this date on request.

What happens if defects are found during the inspection?

Defects are described in the report and classified by urgency. Hazardous conditions, such as a defective protective conductor, are reported immediately and the affected device or circuit is taken out of service. We usually fix minor issues directly during the appointment, while larger ones are calculated separately and coordinated with you.

Do you also handle maintenance of existing systems?

Yes. We handle the replacement of defective lights and protective devices, the expansion of sub-distribution boards, retightening of terminal connections and the upkeep of system documentation. After the first inspection, we document in writing which services make sense at what intervals.

How can I reach you in the event of a fault at my business?

Call us. Our office hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday, 7:30 am to 1:00 pm. Outside these hours, fault service is provided by telephone arrangement. We do not promise fixed response times, but we will tell you openly on the phone when a visit is possible.

Working during ongoing operations requires consideration for your workflow. That's why we proceed section by section instead of disrupting the entire business at once. We agree on power cuts in advance and stick to the agreed time windows. On site, we coordinate with your staff to keep disruption to a minimum. By the end of the working day, the work area is cleared and tidied.

Clarifying critical circuits in advance

Before starting work, we clarify together with you which circuits must not fail under any circumstances – for example, the till system, server or refrigeration. For these areas, we agree on a suitable solution, such as a temporary power supply or rescheduling the relevant work. This way, your business operations remain protected where it matters most.

Step 1

On-site inspection

We look at the distribution, cable routes and use of the space together with you. In doing so, we note the existing protection, free spaces in the distribution board and the connected loads of your machines and equipment. For a retail space, this also means: where are the tills, refrigeration units and lighting tracks located?

Scope and price

What determines the cost

There is no flat-rate price for commercial spaces, because system size and condition vary too much. After the walkthrough, however, we can define the scope of work clearly. These points determine it the most:

Number of circuits and devices: For inspections, the effort is calculated based on the circuits to be measured and the number of portable devices, i.e. everything that runs on a plug.
Condition of the distribution board: A modern distribution board with free spaces and labelling saves time. Older systems without documentation must first be recorded and circuits assigned.
Cable routes: Suspended ceilings and cable ducts are quickly accessible. Chases in masonry, fire seals or work during ongoing operations significantly increase the effort.
Working hours window: Work outside our office hours, in the evening or on weekends, is billed with a surcharge. We state this in advance in the quote.
Materials: Cable cross-sections, protective devices, lights and sub-distribution boards vary in cost depending on the manufacturer. You see the line items individually.
